It’s surprising, the number of people who have a tattoo they regret getting, or have the desire to remove all or part of their unwanted ink. Whether the art didn’t live up to your expectations, your professional image is impacted, or your sentiment toward the tattoo has changed, The Face & Body Place has the most advanced laser tattoo removal treatment available. We can help.
How the PicoSure™ Laser Works
Dr. Kimberly Finder has the only PicoSure™ laser, the most advanced technology in tattoo removal, in the North San Antonio area. PicoSure™ works by sending micro-pulses (one trillionth of a second in length) of energy at your unwanted tattoo. The shockwave shatters the ink into tiny particles that are easily absorbed by the body and expelled through the lymphatic system. It works even on multiple colors, including blues and greens, and aged ink or tattoos that have previously been treated, often in fewer sessions than other laser tattoo removal technology. You’ll see better results in fewer visits, saving you time and money.
Side Effects and Results
Side effects are generally rare, but can include bruising for 1-3 days post treatment, tingling similar to sunburn, blisters, itching, and mild skin discoloration. These should clear up within a week. Results are more difficult to predict. A lot depends on the size of the tattoo, its colors, and its age. Some patients report fading after the first session, while others may not see fading until multiple treatments have been performed. Treatments range in length between 5 and 15 minutes, and the average professional tattoo requires 3-4 sessions to completely remove. Some tattoos may require more. You may immediately return to light work after your laser tattoo removal session, but it is recommended you rest your treatment area by curbing physical activity for 24-48 hours to avoid irritating the sensitive skin.

Cost of Laser Tattoo Removal
According to DocShop, the average laser tattoo removal cost ranges from $200 to $500 per session. While the overall cost is determined by the type of laser used, the number of sessions needed to eradicate the tattoo, and the geographical location of the physician, it’s possible the cost will be as little as $1,000 or as much as $10,000.
At The Face & Body Place, we know cost is a major consideration for an elective procedure not typically covered by insurance. That is why we offer a range of financing options to fit your unique situation, so you can concentrate on having the treatment you need to rebuild your confidence and rest easy knowing that unwanted tattoo won’t plague you for years to come.
Tattoos are very personal. If they’re not done correctly, or if their overall look isn’t as appealing as we’d hoped, we often regret having something so permanent displayed on our body. For others, a tattoo says things about their image they may no longer wish to say. Dr. Kimberly Finder and her staff at The Face & Body Place are highly trained and experienced in the removal of tattoos via laser treatment. With the precision of the PicoSure™ laser, you can remove all or even just part of a tattoo, and in many cases, it’s as if the tattoo never existed in the first place.
My appointment was last Friday with Lori. She was amazing. I appreciate all the information from her and Dr. Finder, all the attentiveness, and caring attitude. Looking forward to my next visit.
