One of the most common target areas Dr. Kimberly Finder treats is the thigh, both inner, outer, and the appearance of cellulite. As one of the first practitioners to adopt the tumescent liposuction technique, and with more than 6,000 procedures under her belt, Dr. Finder is an expert at sculpting the thighs for the most pleasing results.
Thigh Area Troubles
Many women are genetically predisposed to accumulating fat on the thighs. This is frustrating because no amount of healthy eating and exercise can reduce the appearance of saddlebags or inner thigh bulge. But it’s more than about how their legs look. For many patients, inner thigh rubbing is highly uncomfortable and can make activities like walking, running, or other forms of exercise painful. They find skirts and dresses difficult to wear. It can also be costly, as the seams in pants where the thighs rub together wear out much faster and need replacing.
Outer thigh troubles, like saddlebags, have their own set of frustrations. For women whose lower body is disproportionate to their upper body from the waist up, they may have difficulty finding clothes that fit properly. Pants with enough room in the thigh and buttock region may have too wide a waist. This is known as “two-body syndrome.” This unfortunate mismatch can rear its head in unexpected ways, like the reaction people have when a two-bodied woman stands from behind a table. Two-piece bathing suits are impossible to find unless purchasing two different sizes to mix and match. And the unsightly textured appearance of cellulite is no one’s friend.
How Liposuction Can Help
Dr. Kimberly Finder is one of the busiest tumescent liposuction practitioners in the U.S. During the procedure, the site is entirely numb from the tumescent anesthesia, and an incision is made in each of the thighs (depending on your area of focus). A small cannula is then inserted to gently suction out the unwanted fat. For outer thigh procedures, Dr. Finder combines SlimLipo™ laser treatment to melt the fat of the target area. This improves the skin tone and texture of the results for the smoothest, most uniform reduction of fat possible and the most natural, improved proportions.

Results and Recovery
Typically, the incisions are small enough not to need stitches, and they remain open to allow the tumescent to flow freely from the body. This helps keep infection from being trapped within the body during the healing process. Compression garments are suggested for patients from a few days to a few weeks after the completion of the procedure.
Patients return home from the outpatient procedure the same day. While discomfort is possible during the first 72 hours, it can be managed with pain medication and the compression garments. Most patients find the tumescent liposuction to be an easier recovery, and many patients who work desk jobs return to work within three days. Strenuous activity should be avoided for three to four weeks. The more extensive the procedure, the longer swelling is possible, and the longer compression garments are required before you can show off your svelte new legs.
Liposuction can solve a host of problems, from ill-fitting clothing, to “two-body syndrome.” Dr. Finder’s patients report time and again how pleased they are with her artistry and ability to resculpt their proportions.
Dr. Finder & her techniques are top notch. I must say all the team there is super nice & do a great job in whatever position they work.
